While unspoken, Christ will judge the value of our thoughts. Christ will evaluate whether they are “good or evil.” The actions we take, and everything we do. God’s eyes will see and judge everything. The moments when we were godly and the times we acted ungodly. The acts we are proud of and the things we are ashamed of. Like a divine searchlight, God will bring everything hidden to light. Paul says the judgment will expose “what has done in the body, whether good or evil” (2 Cor. It will not be about your parents, your siblings, your best friends, or even your pastors. ![]() When you stand before the judgment seat, it will be about you and only you. Thus, when I stand before Christ, the judgment will be about me and only me. IT IS INDIVIDUAL– Paul says that the purpose of the judgment is so “each one may receive what is due.” In a related passage, he confirms that when he says, “we will all stand before the judgment seat of God,” and “each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Rom. Every believer will one day stand before his Redeemer and face intense scrutiny.Ģ. We cannot avoid our day before the judge like we have a pending criminal case where our court appearance is mandatory. IT IS MANDATORY – Paul says, “We must all appear.” The language indicates it is necessary. ![]() In this passage, Paul gives us FIVE CHARACTERISTICS of the JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST.ġ. In 2 Corinthians 5:10 he wrote, “ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” Paul talked about this judgment seat in his two letters to the church in Corinth. This happens at the JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST. But as believers, at the time of our death or when we are translated at the rapture, OUR FAITHFULNESS TO CHRIST WILL BE EVALUATED. ![]() We will be in heaven-that’s not in question. Yes, we no longer face judgment for our sins. While it is true that in Romans 8:1: “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” The doctrine of our future judgment does not negate that central truth. Because we are consumed by the teachings about God’s love, mercy and grace, we have often overlooked the biblical teaching that all believers will be judged by Christ in the future.
